Liis Rose Struck Review

A review of Liis's blushing rose.

Liis Rose Struck is the second full bottle of Liis perfume that I purchased for myself, and it is one of the newest full bottles in my collection. Now, I had too many rose perfumes already, but when my sample of this ran out, I needed to upgrade. I am not a rose lover, surprising I know (since i just told you I need to stop buying rose perfumes), but I’m not. I do not enjoy the scent of fresh roses plucked from the garden or rose water, but when I began my perfume journey, rose scents took me by surprise. Out of all the rose perfumes I own, this is my favorite (so far).

Liis paints a picture of seasons fading from Winter to Spring and frost on roses melting away to reveal the bloom within. I would love to tell you that I have different imagery when I smell the fragrance, but they hit the nail on the head with this one. This is a wonderful, fresh, frosty, dewy rose scent, and I can completely envision their story when I smell this fragrance. I am not a winter girly. I miss the sun and the warmth of Summer as soon as November hits, but wearing this perfume in the dead of winter revives my spirit. The icy rose doesn’t feel out of place in the cooler months but brings the promise of warmer days and the eventual coming of spring.

While Rose Struck is not my favorite Liis fragrance, it's the one I wear most often. Unfortunately, I do tend to hoard the things I love, but I am working on not saving the candlesticks. This is a fantastic daily driver. Approachable and not too loud, this can be worn by anyone, anywhere. It may be more expensive than you want for a daily wear perfume, but it would be well worth it.

If you find yourself liking this fragrance but are unwilling to drop $165, I do have a cheaper recommendation. I would not say that it is a dupe, but they share some notes and have a similar energy. OUAI Melrose Place would be a good option as it is a light, sweet, fresh rose. Now again, these are not the same, but it could be a good alternative.

Keep on Sniffing,
